Bruce Johnson brings both legal and management perspectives to health care-related legal issues. His extensive experience as a health care attorney and consultant includes providing representation and services to medical groups, hospitals, academic practice plans and other health care enterprises in a variety of operational, regulatory and transactional matters. Mr. Johnson has extensive experience in the application of the Stark self-referral prohibition, Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse, tax-exempt organizations, antitrust, and other legal issues to health care business transactions.

Mr. Johnson has authored and contributed to numerous books and articles, including Physician Compensation Plans: State of the Art Strategies—a top selling publication on the topic. He also serves as a regular faculty member on many national education programs and is a founder of the MGMA-sponsored Integrated Delivery System Round Table program, first held in 2007, which involves leaders from integrated delivery systems across the U.S. Mr. Johnson also developed a website for MGMA members to address the challenges that the federal physician self-referral or "Stark" law presents to physicians, hospitals, academic practices and other health care organizations - starkcompliance.com.
