Christopher P. Sobba

Chris Sobba represents general contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, suppliers, architects, engineers and owners in a wide variety of construction litigation matters.  Mr. Sobba has experience handling claims regarding breach of contract, prompt payment statutes, extra work, delay, acceleration, inefficiency, impact, bid disputes, design errors and omissions, construction defects, mold, mechanic's liens, payment and performance bond claims, personal injury, wrongful death, insurance claims, debt collections, fraud, and many other claims asserted in the construction industry.

Mr. Sobba has represented clients in state court, federal court, arbitration and mediation, and has been directly involved with multiparty construction litigation where total claims exceeded $200 million. He has trial experience in both Kansas and Missouri, and has successfully argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Mr. Sobba has experience handling claims relating to a wide variety of construction projects across the country including:

Mr. Sobba's understanding of the construction industry allows him to effectively investigate and pursue early resolution of disputes between parties, when appropriate, and allows him to efficiently prepare cases and see them through trial or arbitration when appropriate.

Familiarity with the local bench and bar is important to serving client needs.  Mr. Sobba remains active in local bar organizations, including service as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City during the 2007-2008 board year, and current service on the Senior Board for the Lawyers Association of Kansas City.

 

Mr. Sobba frequently speaks to construction industry representatives concerning important legal issues and developments that arise in construction law, and often writes articles in trade publications concerning developments as well.
