Lauren E. Tucker McCubbin

Lauren E. Tucker McCubbin’s general litigation practice targets commercial litigation, with an emphasis on insurance related litigation, class-action litigation, health care litigation and intellectual property related disputes.

 

Her legal experience extends to insurance coverage issues, bad faith litigation, class-action litigation, trademark, copyright and unfair competition law, consumer protection law, workers’ compensation law, personal injury litigation, landlord/tenant law, pharmaceutical products liability, environmental law and constitutional law.  Ms. Tucker McCubbin also has experience in appellate work.  Her practice is equally divided between federal and state court. She has argued before several courts, including the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Experience

  • Drafting insurance policy forms for public entity risk pool and medical professional negligence insurers
  • Assisted clients in obtaining insurance coverage for defense expenses in lawsuits seeking large damages
  • Assisted clients in protecting their assets from judgment due to carriers’ wrongful denial of coverage
  • Obtained writ of prohibition from the Kansas Supreme Court to protect third party from overly burdensome discovery requests
  • Drafting briefs in amicus curiae filed with the Missouri Supreme Court and Kansas Supreme Court in cases challenging the constitutionality of statutory caps on non-economic damages.

Pro Bono

Ms. Tucker McCubbin regularly assists area churches in contract-related disputes, and successfully obtained a refund of money owed to a preschool operated by one such church.
