Polsinelli Shughart continues its national growth in financial services with the addition of bankruptcy and loan enforcement attorney Randye B. Soref to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Soref focuses her practice on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, corporate workouts, reorganizations and commercial litigation.

“Randye’s experience in complex business restructurings and corporate and commercial litigation enhances the firm’s local and national bankruptcy platform. She will be of great value to our clients, and we are pleased to have her join us,” said Financial Services Chair Dan Flanigan.

The addition of Soref to the Los Angeles office occurs during an exciting period of overall growth for Polsinelli Shughart, which has seen its national footprint expand to nine states and 16 cities. The Los Angeles office opened in 2011 and has attorneys who provide counsel in a variety of areas including banking and financial institutions, corporate law, energy and utilities, mergers and acquisitions, municipal law, real estate development, commercial litigation, health care, finance and transactions.

“We are actively expanding our Los Angeles office’s capabilities.” said Los Angeles Managing Partner Lisa Greer Quateman. “Randye is a very accomplished financial services lawyer with a solid record of success. Her savvy counsel will be a good complement to our growing team of attorneys.”

Soref has represented various parties in bankruptcy and litigation proceedings, including all classes of creditors, solvent and insolvent financial institutions, trustees, creditor committees and patient care ombudsmen. She has had extensive involvement with health care and municipality related bankruptcy cases. Soref also routinely represents domestic and foreign commercial banks, investment banks, other lending institutions and distressed debt investors in connection with acquisition and/or disposition of distressed real estate.

“Polsinelli Shughart offers me an outstanding opportunity and national platform to further develop my own practice while working with highly respected attorneys. The firm has a great coast-to-coast reputation and I am excited about the firm’s growth potential and future here in Los Angeles,” Soref said.

Soref’s legal services include loan workouts, negotiating and documenting debtor-in-possession financing, all aspects of plan confirmation, obtaining relief from the automatic stay, successfully obtaining pre-judgment writs of attachment, appointment of receivers, and non-judicial and judicial foreclosure of real and personal property collateral. Ms. Soref also counsels institutional clients on credit documentation, collection efforts and other credit matters.

Soref earned her law degree from the California Western School of Law and her B.A. from Hofstra University. She holds an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell and was selected for inclusion in the 2013 Best Lawyers of America. Soref also has been selected for inclusion in the Southern California Super Lawyers 2006-2012 and ranked as a leader in bankruptcy and restructuring in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Soref speaks and writes frequently on her area of law and is a good source for reporters working on stories about:
