Polsinelli Shughart attorney Bruce Johnson attended the Medical Group Management Association's Annual Conference in Las Vegas. A reporter for Fierce Healthcare interviewed Johnson about the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) final rule for accountable care organizations (ACO) that made participation in its Shared Savings Program a more attractive, feasible goal for more physician practices.

Johnson brings both legal and management perspectives to health care-related legal issues. His extensive experience as a health care attorney and consultant includes providing representation and services to medical groups, hospitals, academic practice plans and other health care enterprises in a variety of operational, regulatory and transactional matters. Mr. Johnson has extensive experience in the application of the Stark self-referral prohibition, Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse, tax-exempt organizations, antitrust, and other legal issues to health care business transactions.
