Marty Harper, managing partner of the Phoenix office of Polsinelli Shughart PC announced today that attorney Scott K. Henderson has joined the firm’s Phoenix office as a shareholder. Henderson’s business practice is concentrated in real estate matters throughout the country but principally in the western U.S. He serves clients in all matters of real estate ownership, planning, development, financing, leasing, operation, construction, purchase and sale. His experience includes an array of real estate uses, including multi-family, office, industrial, retail, hospitality, golf course, master-planned community and air rights.

“I am very excited to join Polsinelli Shughart,” said Henderson. “Polsinelli Shughart’s depth and breadth of high level talent provides me with the knowledge and bench strength to more fully address client needs – something that is especially important in these trying economic times.”

Most recently, Henderson was managing partner of a real estate boutique law firm, called The Henderson Law Firm. Previously, he led real estate practices for prominent international and regional law firms with offices in Phoenix.

The Polsinelli Shughart national real estate practice has increased to 68 attorneys in Phoenix, Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis and Chicago.

“Scott is a great addition to our growing firm,” said Harper. “He has an outstanding reputation in both the real estate and legal communities. In addition, Scott has shown exceptional leadership in community philanthropic efforts through, among other things, his contributions to The Thunderbirds and other organizations that promote the Valley of the Sun and help children and families. Scott is a true legal talent, a real community leader and a tremendous addition to Polsinelli Shughart.”

Henderson came to the Valley of the Sun in 1984 upon receiving his law degree from Indiana University and his undergraduate degree from DePauw University.

Henderson is a member of The Thunderbirds where most notably he served as its Big Chief (President) from 2002-2003 and its Tournament Chairman for the Phoenix Open from 2001-2002. He was a founding member of The Thunderbirds Charities and has served on many Thunderbirds and PGA TOUR boards, committees and councils. Scott recently served on the Board of Trustees for Homeward Bound and the Board of Directors for Special Olympics of Arizona. He was also a member of the Fiesta Bowl Committee and the Men’s Arts Council.

Henderson would be a good source for reporters working on stories about:

· Real Estate Development – specific matters, as well as trends
· Real Estate Finance – trends, options, ownership vs. leasing
· Construction – trends, risks, contracts, preventing/mitigating disputes
