Polsinelli welcomes shareholder Jonathan T. Brohard to the firm’s Real Estate department. Brohard is an accomplished attorney with more than 17 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, sales, financing, development, operations and management. He served most recently as a senior officer of a real estate investment and management company with more than 135 properties and 240 employees across 22 states.

“Jonathan brings a real world skill set to our growing firm. His knowledge of real estate investment trusts from both the management and legal sides is a great value to our clients,” said Phoenix Managing Partner Ed Novak. “We are very pleased to have someone of Jonathan’s experience join our team.”

Brohard joins the national Real Estate department that includes more than 60 attorneys in Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York City, Overland Park, Phoenix, and St. Louis. The firm has been recognized each of the last four years by Midwest Real Estate News as one of the top six law firms in an eleven-state area based upon the number of real estate transactions handled during those years.

Brohard will focus on all types of real estate, including multi-family housing, student housing, office, industrial, retail, assisted living, single-family developments and master planned communities.

Additionally, he has served on the board of directors of two real estate investment trusts (REITs) and has significant experience with REIT operations, investor relations and related matters. Brohard has also served as the Responsible Officer in a $600mm Chapter 11 bankruptcy of a real estate investment company with over 25 properties in six states and has extensive practical experience with debtor-in-possession operations, financing, asset sales and reorganization issues.

Brohard earned his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1994, and earned his B.S. degree in Finance, summa cum laude, from West Virginia University in 1991. While in law school, he served on the editorial board of the Virginia Tax Review. Brohard is a member of the Arizona State Bar and has admissions in Virginia and Washington D.C.
