Citing the firm’s growing health care presence and commitment to the health care industry, the incoming president of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) has joined national law firm Polsinelli Shughart. This July, Kristen Rosati will become the president of AHLA, the nation’s largest educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field, with more than 11,000 members.

Kristen is a national thought leader in the area of health information, emerging health technology and clinical trials, all areas that have critical importance to our clients under the federal reform law. Kristen is also playing a key role in ensuring that today's health care lawyers are ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow's health system through her active leadership in the American Health Lawyers Association,” said Matt Murer, chair of the Polsinelli Shughart Health Care Practice. “We are thrilled to have an attorney of her prominence, knowledge and leadership abilities on our health care team, and I know that her expertise and experience will help our clients stay ahead of the curve in this dynamic time of change.”

Rosati will lead the “Big Data” initiative at the firm. As hospitals, physicians and other providers migrate to electronic health records, the health care industry is finding ways to harness that wealth of data for important public purposes, such as research, quality improvement, data sharing in clinical integration, public health and drug safety surveillance. Rosati has deep experience in HIPAA compliance, electronic health records roll-outs, health information exchange, data sharing for research and clinical integration initiatives and ACOs, and clinical research compliance and clinical trials contracting.

Rosati joins one of the largest, multidisciplinary health care practices in the nation which includes 100 attorneys in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Phoenix, St. Louis and Washington D.C. Polsinelli Shughart recently was ranked as the nation’s seventh largest health care practice by the AHLA
“Health care is a quickly evolving industry, and I’m excited to be a part of a firm that is ahead of the curve in anticipating what clients need,” stated Rosati. “My focus on clinical research and electronic health information is a perfect complement for the growing health care practice at Polsinelli Shughart. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues in a variety of areas.”

Rosati will practice in the firm’s growing Phoenix office which includes more than 60 attorneys who practice in a variety of areas including health care, corporate, business litigation, environmental, science and technology, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, government investigations and white collar criminal defense, real estate, and public policy.
