Polsinelli Chief Marketing Officer Selected as a Women Who Mean Business Honoree

Polsinelli’s Chief Marketing Officer Allison Berey has been recognized as one of the top-ranking businesswomen in Kansas City by the Kansas City Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business program. Berey is one of 25 women inducted into this year’s Women Who Mean Business class, now in its 18th year of honoring leading businesswomen.

Berey has been Polsinelli’s CMO for five years, and leads a team of marketing communications and business development professionals for the Am Law 100 firm. She is responsible for building brand recognition for the firm nationally, overseeing business development activities in support of the firm’s more than 50 practice groups, and driving initiatives focused on firm growth and client retention by providing value, innovative services, and client service excellence.

“Allison has demonstrated strong leadership in our dynamic and competitive industry by building a marketing platform to support our firm’s 800 attorneys and 20 offices nationwide, and she is a highly-respected and valuable member of our leadership team,” said Chairman and CEO Russ Welsh. “She is committed to the development and success of her team, and we are grateful for the passion and dedication she brings to her job every day.”

In contributing to the firm’s strategic goals, Berey has been instrumental in understanding client priorities to ensure the firm’s value proposition remains competitive and relevant. She oversees the full range of the firm’s marketing and communications activities, including public relations, advertising and creative development, new business development activities, market and client research, client and practice group analytics, industry rankings participation, and programs for client retention and enhancement of the client experience.

“I’m extremely gratified to work with a strong, high-performing team that has helped evolve our marketing capabilities to a sophisticated, best-practice platform,” Berey said. “I am proud of our entire marketing team who has contributed to the firm’s successes over my tenure at Polsinelli, and honored to be named to the Women Who Mean Business class of 2017. We will continue to elevate what we do in support of the firm’s strategic goals and of our attorneys as they cultivate valued, long-standing client relationships.”

Under Berey’s leadership as CMO, Polsinelli was named No. 20 on BTI Consulting Group’s 2017 Brand Elite list. The firm jumped 54 spots this year, having previously earned the No. 74 ranking in 2016. Polsinelli was also ranked No. 17 in BTI’s Client Service A-Team earlier this year.

In addition to her role at Polsinelli, Berey was involved in establishing the Kansas City Chapter for the Legal Marketing Association, a national organization providing professional development resources for legal marketers. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Village Shalom and serves as the Marketing Chair for the Kansas City Jewish Federation.

The Kansas City Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business program recognizes candidates who are either entrepreneurs, top-ranking corporate women in the Kansas City region or partners leading a practice group or serving on an executive committee. Berey was selected by a panel of judges including previous Women Who Mean Business honorees. She will be recognized at an awards luncheon on Aug. 25 in Overland Park, Kansas.
