Dallas-based Polsinelli shareholder Lon R. Williams
has been appointed to the 2017 board of directors for the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the state’s leading advocacy organization for the business community.
“Lon is an accomplished professional, and we sincerely appreciate his involvement and leadership,” said Kirby Hiscox, vice president of corporate development at TAB. “His consultative legal practice and dedication to supporting the needs of Texas business are a strong fit with our organization’s focus on ensuring that employers’ opinions are being heard. We look forward to working with him on our strategic initiatives throughout the year.”
Williams, a member of Polsinelli’s Labor and Employment practice, is often called to advise and counsel top business executives on compliance challenges related to federal and state laws. He represents companies of all sizes across many industries, with a particular emphasis in the health care, staffing, energy, financial services, education and defense contracting sectors.
“Staying current on policy issues facing Texas companies is always a priority for me, so when the opportunity to join TAB in a leadership capacity presented itself, I was eager to sign on,” Williams said. “TAB is an influential organization representing many of the state’s most prominent and successful employers, from multi-national corporations to small businesses. I am eager to contribute to the board’s support and guidance of TAB’s vital work addressing the Texas business community’s most important challenges.”
An active volunteer leader with numerous business and community organizations, Williams is also co-director for legislative affairs and long-time member of the Society for Human Resource Management’s Texas State Council. He is a former president and past board member of the Fort Worth Human Resource Management Association.
