Polsinelli has expanded its Health Care practice with the addition of Andrew J. Voss as an associate. Voss brings a distinct perspective to the team, having worked as a licensed physical therapist before attending law school. Voss will focus on health care regulatory matters and transactions for the firm’s clients that include health care providers, public health care entities, large physicians groups, specialty providers, and long-term care facilities.
“To be a successful lawyer and to help your clients succeed, you need to thoroughly understand their business,” Voss said. “I think my past clinical experience enables me to look for practical solutions. In addition, I’m looking forward to practicing with some of the nation’s most recognized health care lawyers. It was a complete career change, but I’m finding my past experience really enhances my law practice.”
The Polsinelli Health Care practice stretches from coast to coast and was recently ranked by the American Health Lawyers Association as the seventh largest in the nation.
“Andrew’s combination of experience as an attorney and health care professional allows him to bring a unique perspective to our clients,” said Randy S. Gerber, managing director of the St. Louis office of Polsinelli. “He is skilled at looking at all aspects of the situation, honing in on the clients’ needs and meeting those needs efficiently.”
Voss attended Saint Louis University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science in May 2000 and a master’s degree in physical therapy in December 2002. In December 2007, he earned his law degree degree and health law certificate from Saint Louis University. While a law student, he served as lead editor of the school’s Journal of Health Law and Policy. Voss is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and American Health Lawyers Association, and also serves as a member of the board of trustees for St. Patrick Center in St. Louis.
