Health care fraud and abuse has been estimated to cost Medicare and Medicaid more than $18 billion which causes a sharp rise in health care costs. Since the passing of the Affordable Care Act, there has been a significant increase in the resources used to detect, prevent and prosecute health care waste, fraud and abuse. Health care organizations now face an unprecedented degree of scrutiny. WAFS speaks to Polsinelli's Brian McEvoy about health care fraud. Brian is a former federal prosecutor with a practice focus on white collar criminal defense with a special emphasis on health care fraud matters.
