The Overland Park team of attorneys includes a member of the Kansas Supreme Court CLE Commission and Client Protection Fund Commission, the Firm’s pro bono professional, the former president of the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a past president of the Software Patent Institute.
Many of these dynamic and talented attorneys have experience in the political arena and held positions such as Appointee to the National Advisory Counsel to the Small Business Administration, former Chief Counsel to Kansas Governor Mike Hayden, Deputy Chief Counsel for U.S. Senator Bob Dole, and former assistant general counsel for Bush/Cheney for President-Kansas.
Other attorneys had unique and relevant previous careers as a former General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel for the Kansas Corporation Commission, former general counsel for Kansas Insurance Department, former in-house counsel at American Trust & Administrators. One of our attorneys has served as panel bankruptcy trustee for U.S. Bankruptcy Court for District of Kansas while three attorneys also have earned their CPAs.
John Petersen, Overland Park’s managing shareholder, and the attorneys have a strong belief in giving back to the community it serves and so many of the members serve in leadership roles such as president of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and board member of the Shawnee Mission School Board.
