Polsinelli Shughart PC associate Nicole A. Westbrook was named a 2009 Up and Coming Lawyer by Law Week Colorado.
The Up and Coming Lawyer award is presented to attorneys who stand out within their organization and display legal integrity, professionalism and drive. Recipients have six years or fewer years of experience practicing law.

In 2006, Westbrook joined the Denver office of Polsinelli Shughart, where she serves as an associate in its business litigation practice group. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants, focusing on complex civil litigation on behalf of corporations and individuals before state and federal courts. In the past year, Westbrook has significantly increased her responsibilities in large cases in such areas as contract litigation, violation of trade secrets and stock market manipulation.

Prior to joining Polsinelli Shughart, Westbrook worked as a federal clerk for a federal judge at one of the busiest trial courts in the country -- the Western District of Texas in the Del Rio Division. During her clerkship, she assisted the federal court in drafting legal precedent and policy decisions.
Westbrook earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University, and she received a B.S. in psychology from the University of Wyoming. In 2009, Westbrook was named a Colorado Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
Westbrook is actively involved with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Denver Botanic Garden and West Washington Park Neighborhood Association. Given her leadership skills, she was selected and sponsored by the firm to serve as a member of the Chamber’s Leadership Denver Class of 2008.
