The St. Joseph Bar Association elected Polsinelli Shughart PC attorney Seth C. Wright as president for a one-year term, effective January 2011. Wright will serve as bar leader following his term as vice president. He practices business litigation in the Trial department at Polsinelli Shughart, and divides his time between plaintiff and defense litigation.
“I’m honored to be leading the bar association for the next year,” said Wright, a shareholder at the firm. “A vibrant bar association not only makes us better lawyers, it positively impacts the entire community.”
Wright joined Polsinelli Shughart in 2002. He represents clients in matters involving complex commercial litigation; class actions; business litigation; antitrust actions; product liability claims; personal injury; wrongful death; healthcare litigation; breach of contract disputes; tortious interference; breach of fiduciary duty; officer and director liability; shareholder derivative suits; and worker's compensation claims.
Wright earned his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2002, and his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1999 on a Curator’s Scholarship. He played baseball for the University of Missouri.
He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Active in the community, Wright will chair the United Way Campaign in St. Joseph this fall spearheading the effort to raise $3 million for the community. He has had leadership roles in Leadership St. Joseph, the St. Joseph Arts Fund and the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce.
Wright follows two other Polsinelli Shughart attorneys who have served as bar president: Grace Day and Suzanne Bradley.
