Polsinelli Shughart PC welcomes Attorney Janet E. Zeigler as a shareholder in the firm’s Financial Services department, with a public finance practice focus on health care and other not-for-profit institutions. Zeigler concentrates her practice on advising investment bankers, lenders, health care providers and other not-for-profit institutions in the area of public finance.
Zeigler has served as bond, underwriter, bank and borrower counsel in tax-exempt financings for health care providers – both large, multi-state systems and small community providers – as well as for cultural and education facilities. Over the past two decades, Zeigler has been involved in more than 200 tax-exempt financings for not-for-profit borrowers, totaling more than $25 billion.

Modern Healthcare recently named Polsinelli Shughart the 10th largest health care law firm in the country, based on its 56 attorneys and other professionals who are members of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). Zeigler also is a member of the AHLA.

Zeigler earned her law degree, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif in 1991 from Indiana University School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois in 1988.
She serves on the board of trustees of the Women in Public Finance and is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the American Bar Association. Zeigler previously practiced as a partner with the Chicago office of Foley & Lardner LLP.
