Polsinelli Shughart welcomes attorney John W. Peterson as an associate in the firm’s nationally recognized Financial Services department where he will focus his practice on all aspects of capital markets, commercial lending and project finance.

Peterson will join a Financial Services group that consists of more than 80 attorneys stretching from Los Angeles to New York. The attorneys help connect firm clients to regional, national and international financial markets and products.
Peterson works with diverse business clients in solving legal and contractual issues relating to capital markets, regulatory matters, real estate and corporate matters. He is involved in structured finance matters involving both residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities as well as equity derivatives.

Peterson earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Dayton in 2007. He also served on the Dayton Law Review as its publications and production editor. He earned an M.B.A. degree in Management & Sports Management in 2004 from Missouri State University and a B.B.A. degree in corporate finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2002.
