Corey Casey brings his clinical and technical experience as a Doctor of Pharmacy and Registered Pharmacist to provide a real-world perspective in his practice as a patent attorney. A member of Polsinelli’s Science and Technology group, he practices in the areas of patent preparation and prosecution, patent litigation and patent opinions, and intellectual property licensing and acquisition. He has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical arts.
Corey assists clients in managing the procurement and enforcement of domestic and international patent and trademark portfolios, including extensive experience filing, and prosecuting post-grant procedures, including ex parte reexamination requests. He has experience preparing freedom to operate, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions for patent matters. Corey also assists clients in developing design around product specifications. In addition to patent prosecution and opinion work, Corey has experience working with clients to assess patent infringement risks, developing competitive intelligence reports and patent landscape analyses.
Corey has extensive experience providing litigation support in the context of Hatch-Waxman patent infringement cases involving Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) that include a Paragraph IV certification for one or more Orange Book listed patents. Corey’s experience focuses on the development of pre-litigation and pending litigation work product, including non-infringement and invalidity strategies.
