Over the last 30 years, Lonnie J. Shalton has represented many of the major real estate developers in the Kansas City Area.  His primary emphasis over the last 16 years has been representation of national and international real estate investors.  Projects include the Intercontinental Hotel and condo tower on Boston Harbor, bankruptcy purchase and ultimate sale of the Enron Tower in Houston, a major office building in Chicago and many projects in New York City: conversion of the Stanhope Hotel to a cooperative, Ariel condo towers at 99th and Broadway, a $1.76 billion apartment/land purchase on the Hudson River, several major land assemblages and the W Hotel and 60-story Orion luxury condo tower in the Times Square area.

  • Represented developer on assemblage, financing, and construction of 20-story luxury hotel/condo tower on one of the last available sites in Boston Harbor. Also represented the client on the lease of the hotel portion to Intercontinental Hotel.
  • Represented a national developer in assemblage and financing of a 36-story office tower with a gem-like facade. The building is in the midst of the New York City Diamond District and includes extra layers of tenant security for the valuable gems.
  • Represented developer on purchase of a large tract of land and three apartment buildings on the Hudson River for a purchase price of $1.76 billion; sale of the apartment buildings; and the ongoing development of a series of condo towers on the land.
  • Represented a national developer on purchase and gut redevelopment to convert 1,500,000-square-foot office building to Class A space in Chicago. Also provided leasing services for major tenancies.
  • Represented a national developer of the Lucida, a 400,000 square-foot-trophy residential and retail property in New York. Services included leasing to credit tenants Barnes & Noble, H&M, and Bank of America.
  • Represented a national developer on assemblage and financing of New York City luxury condos: Orion (Times Square), Ariel East and West (99th and Broadway), 535 West End, and Altair 18 and 20 (Chelsea).
  • Represented winning bidder in bankruptcy court for the prized 40-story Enron office tower and the ultimate sale to Chevron Texaco for its Houston headquarters.
