A former research scientist at the University of Kansas, Richard Stitt is adept within the complex sciences. He combines this background with his legal skills to provide clients with highly specialized representation.

Richard is a registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on medical and biochemical matters, software and mechanical inventions, and intellectual property, litigation, and licensing.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Richard worked as a research scientist in biochemistry, toxicology, and medicinal chemistry. His intellectual property practice has encompassed prosecution of patents and trademarks in all commercially significant countries of the world.

  • Medical, medical device, and chemical patents drafted and prosecuted to issue include: an oral fluid collection device and method; a biological permeable barrier to treat contaminated groundwater using immobilized cells; low-concentration ozone waste water treatment; an orthodontic palatal expansion arch with cast lingual sheath and insert; a composition and method for immunostimulation in mammals; and an assay method for gamma glutamyltransferase (GGT) in liquid blood and dried blood.
  • Software and electrical patents drafted and prosecuted to issue include: a method of markup language accessing of host systems and data using a constructed intermediary; a promotion system including an IC-card memory for obtaining and tracking a plurality of transactions; a promotional system with magnetic stripe and visual thermo-reversible print surfaced medium; a continuous corona discharge ozone generation device; and a structural monitoring system.
  • Mechanical patents drafted and prosecuted to issue include: a tug and barge connector and receiver apparatus; a tilt table for disease diagnosis; an articulated tug and barge mobile lightering connection; multiple chambered container; a rotary cutter head; and a method and apparatus for objective evaluation of patient ambulation, balance and weight bearing status.
