Sidney Welch works with clients to best position them in the explosion of heath care change. Focusing on operational, transactional, regulatory, administrative, and litigation matters nationally, Sidney works with clients to structure transactions and respond to compliance issues associated with federal and state health care laws and regulations. She is known for her work with specialty physician practices and health care technology companies across the country, and provides strategic counsel to clients regarding innovations in health care, including:

  • Represented the State of Georgia in creating a public/private enterprise to own and operate the statewide health care information network for providers across the state. The scope of project included the provision of health care regulatory advice and technology contracting.
  • Provided healthcare regulatory and corporate advice to leading national owner/operator of surgical hospitals and surgery centers in acquisition of a majority interest in physician-owned orthopedic-focused health system, which included critical access hospitals, PT and OT clinics, imaging centers, and rural health clinics.
  • Advised national physician-led management company for anesthesia and other specialties on strategic regulatory and corporate structure solutions for relationships with various physician specialty practices.
  • Partnered with prominent physician owned ambulatory surgery center and pain management clinic to advise on acquisition by private equity firm.
  • Served as litigation defense counsel to multiple oncology practices in national False Claims Act litigation brought by qui tam relator related to oncologic drug purchases.
  • Provided comprehensive legal and strategic advice to one of the largest national oncology practices on all phases of operation, including relationship with hospital system, billing and coding issues, employment matters, real estate portfolio, revenue diversification models, and False Claims Act mediation. 
  • Advised multi-state, multi-physician oncology practice in all phases of strategic partnership with regional health system, including health care regulatory, operational matters, and transactional planning and execution. 
  • Served as healthcare regulatory and technology counsel to technology services platform of national health care provider on new initiatives and acquisitions. 
  • Worked alongside a number of physician and non-physician owned technology companies in the healthcare space as part of their strategic planning team to develop new and innovative mobile applications, software, cloud storage solutions, delivery models. 
  • Provided hands-on strategic regulatory planning for national telecommunications company, health care providers, and health care companies in development of multiple telehealth platforms.
