A Construction Law Update:

There's an App for That!

Applications are used in all industries - the construction industry is no exception. With tablets and smart phones readily available, and with their increased use on job sites, the US Green Building Council (USGBC) has jumped into the application world with the goals of saving time and effort in task management, data exchange, and the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) certification process, while expanding green building across the county. With numerous LEED projects completed, under construction, and in the planning stages, USGBC has created an application lab to help users navigate their way through the LEED process. The USGBC's application lab houses a collection of applications created by third-parties that integrate with LEED information and processes. The software programs and tools available in the lab are capable of interacting with USGBC's LEED on-line system.

Numerous applications are available now in the application lab; the USGBC anticipates adding more applications in the future. The application lab can be accessed on the USGBC's website www.usgbc.org or the following link: http://www.usgbc.org/

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council in March 2000, LEED provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
