Beginning in 2012, 10,000 people every day will turn 65 for the next twenty years. The impact of housing will be extraordinary. Polsinelli Shughart PC, KC4 Aging in Community and the Center for Practical Bioethics invite you to come join us and learn more about how we can prepare to meet the needs of these aging boomers who want to stay right where they are in a home that can be made safe and accessible. |

About the Program: |
Aging impacts every aspect of our lives but many of us don’t see it … yet. Over the course of the next 20 years, we’ll feel its effect in every segment of our community and every aspect of our lives. We’ll feel its effect intertwined in housing, health, transportation, civic engagement and care giving, changing our notions of safety, security and sustainability. In some parts of the region we’ll see nearly a tripling of those over the age of 65!
Seniors want to age in place by being a part of the vibrant and intergenerational communities they help build, and staying involved in the neighborhoods they love. We can do it, but it requires innovation and new partnerships from Kansas City’s business, charitable and public sectors. But we have to start now. |
