Growing up in the western suburbs as a second-generation American, Paula Kim understood how seemingly simple tasks like interpreting a contract or filling out a job application were often roadblocks for immigrants trying to achieve the American dream. The Chicago Sun-Times interviewed Kim for a story "Bridging the Gap," about her trial practice which concentrates of general and complex business and commercial litigation. Beyond her usual areas of practice, Kim is also committed to public service through extensive pro bono work in the areas of immigration law, housing discrimination, and family law. She won political asylum for a client from Africa, successfully appealed a prisoner’s rights case, and successfully argued before the Chief Judge of the Seventh Circuit in a case involving procedural due process.
