Polsinelli Shareholder Cameron Weil Appointed Vice Chair of ABA’s Special Investors and Investment Structure Group
Polsinelli is pleased to announce that Real Estate Shareholder Cameron Weil has been appointed vice chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Real Property, Trust and Estate Law (RPTE) Section’s Special Investors and Investment Structure Group.
The Special Investors and Investment Structure Group addresses a broad range of legal and transactional issues involving specialized real estate investors and investment structures. Its committees focus on areas including federal taxation of real estate, international real estate investment, land trusts, sustainability and real estate investments, partnerships and limited liability companies and real estate private equity.
Weil’s appointment reflects an expanded leadership role within the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section. He most recently served as chair of the Real Estate Private Equity Committee and previously chaired the Section’s Real Estate Investment Trust Committee, both committees within the Special Investors and Investment Structure Group.
Based in Polsinelli’s New York and Miami offices, Weil advises clients navigating complex real estate and capital markets matters. With more than a decade of experience, he has closed real estate transactions worth several billion dollars for sellers, buyers, owners and lenders and has facilitated billions of dollars in real estate securities offerings, including Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs), real estate investment trusts (REITs) and opportunity zone (OZ) funds.
A dedicated speaker and author, Weil is passionate about sharing knowledge and best practices within the industry. He also chairs the Acquisition/Disposition Subcommittee of the New York City Bar Association’s Real Property Law Committee and previously chaired its Finance and Development Subcommittee. Weil intends to continue advocating for DST, REIT and OZ investment structures within the ABA RPTE Special Investors and Investment Structure Group.
