Emily Wehr’s practice focuses on real estate development, lease negotiations and LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credit) projects. Emily leverages her background as in-house counsel for companies within a multitier organization to aid developers, lenders and sellers in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and development of projects. Most recently, she is dedicating a large portion of her practice to the national development of affordable and historic housing projects.
Over the last three years, Emily has dedicated her practice to representing lenders in 4% and 9% LIHTC projects, historic rehabilitation and New Market Tax Credits. In 2023, she closed over 40 projects nationwide valued at $400 million in financing. Her focus is on complicated financing structures involving many layers of capital in the form of tax credit equity, non-profit grants, HTF and HOME funds.
Emily began her legal career in mass tort litigation, class action defense and constitutional law. Her background in litigation and mediation has benefited her clients in negotiations with various state housing agencies and developers.
