Grant Carringer represents health care providers and organizations in a wide range of health care litigation matters. He assists clients through all phases of disputes, from early case assessment and discovery through motion practice, trial preparation and resolution. By working closely with health care clients, Grant develops litigation strategies that advance their interests in reimbursement disputes, payer litigation, and other complex health care matters, with a focus on achieving their legal and business objectives.
Grant brings a practical perspective to his litigation practice, informed by experience in both legal support and client-facing roles. Before joining private practice, he served as a paralegal and later clerked with his prior firm, providing him with hands-on experience supporting litigation matters from inception through resolution. He developed early courtroom experience representing clients through Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 7 practice and the University of Tennessee Domestic Violence Clinic, where he worked alongside the Tennessee Public Defender's Office. He also completed a judicial externship with judges of the Knox County Circuit Court, providing him insight into trial court proceedings and judicial decision-making. Exposure to litigation from both the advocate's and the court's perspective gives Grant a nuanced understanding of judicial decision-making, litigation strategy and the challenges clients face when navigating complex disputes.
Grant has represented clients through all phases of litigation and has taken cases through trial in both state and federal courts. His experience before judges and juries further informs his practical approach to helping health care providers and organizations navigate complex disputes.
