For many years now law firms have adopted diversity programs, appointed diversity officers, created women's initiatives, and polled their departing women lawyers to glean insight into the reasons for their departure. At the same time, women lawyers built affinity groups that they hoped would help to advance their careers and increase women in the upper echelons of the legal industry.
