We've all heard of schoolyard bullying, but employers need to be aware of possibility of workplace bullying and how it can impact the employer’s business. When an employee, or employee group, singles out another employee for unreasonable, embarrassing or intimidating treatment, that treatment could lead to discrimination or harassment claims filed against the company. Since 2003, twenty-one states have introduced legislation to combat private workplace bullying but none have been passed into law.
