Rockwell Bower Earns New Data Privacy Certification

D. Rockwell Bower of Polsinelli has earned the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The CIPM designation is for privacy program administration leaders and proves that these individuals have the capacity to establish, maintain, and manage a privacy program across all stages of its lifecycle. According to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), "CIPM is the world’s first and only certification in privacy program management. When you earn a CIPM, it shows that you don’t just know privacy regulations—you know how to make it work for your organization. In other words, you’re the go-to person for day-to-day operations when it comes to privacy."

This is Rockwell’s second data privacy credential, in addition to his CIPP/US certification achieved in 2015. Rockwell’s practice has developed to include identifying, evaluating and managing risks associated with his clients’ privacy and cybersecurity issues. He advises clients on compliance with U.S. state and federal privacy regulations and data security requirements, information security practices, and data breach notification procedures.

The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource, helping practitioners develop and advance their careers and organizations manage and protect their data. Founded in 2000, the IAPP is a not-for-profit association that helps to define, support and improve the privacy profession globally through networking, education and certification.
