Preconference Session: Communication Tips and Tools for ESOP Companies, April 17, 2018 | 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Moderated by: Patti J. Hedgpeth
This in-depth half-day interactive session will provide specific, take-home tips and tools to assist attendees in communicating the details about their Employee Stock Ownership Plan to their employees. Topics covered include effective ways to discuss the concept (and the misconceptions) with employees, what information owners must provide, and how often and in what ways they should repeat their efforts.
Struggles of Small Employers ESOPs, April 18, 2018 | 10:30 - 11:45 AM
Presented by: Jamie Zveitel Kwiatek
ESOP companies with a small number of employees encounter unique issues. This session will focus on small ESOPs (S-Corps and C-Corps) and discuss employee education, ESOP Committees, minority/majority control issues and limitations due to ERISA compliance test constraints (such as deduction limits, anti-abuse, etc.). The session will include a round-table and/or Q&A format so attendees can interact and share ideas.
