Polsinelli is proud to announce that Principals Carmen J. Cole
and Margaux A. Savee
will present at the California Minority Counsel Program's Annual Business Conference in Los Angeles, California. The CMCP Annual Business Conference brings together over 500 business attorneys at all levels, from law firm associates, managing partners, to general counsels, from throughout California and across the nation. The conference provides two full days of learning, and professional and business development opportunities.
On November 8, 2016, California voters passed Proposition 64, which made it legal for individuals to use and grow marijuana for personal use. Subsequently in June 2017, the legislature and Governor signed into law the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act, which unifies the regulatory system for medicinal and adult-use cannabis. The sale and subsequent taxation of recreational marijuana goes into effect on January 1, 2018. In this session, the speakers will discuss regulations and compliance, federal enforcement implications under the current Administration and Attorney General, the impact on California Employers, and other legal issues relating to the legalization of medicinal and adult-use cannabis in California.
