The annual award provides national recognition for 40 ABA young lawyer members who exemplify a broad range of high achievement and legal and community service.

Jacek Wnuk is a registered patent attorney who serves as a strategic and technical advisor to entrepreneurs, inventors, and in-house counsel across businesses in multiple industries. He specializes in helping startups grow and scale their innovation pipelines. Before becoming an attorney, Wnuk worked as an engineer developing hardware and software for self-driving cars as part of the U.S. Dept. of Defense’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Grand Challenge. He has written and prosecuted hundreds of issued patents and advises clients on IP portfolio strategy, standard essential patents, freedom to operate, infringement, and licensing. Jacek has technical expertise in fields such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, drones, aerospace, augmented reality, 5G cellular networks, optics, video coding, semiconductors, biosensors, medical devices, cryptography, and clean energy.

Wnuk completed his B.S. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at UC Berkeley before receiving his J.D. at Loyola Law School Los Angeles. He has spoken at numerous continuing legal education (CLE) events organized by the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) and has also been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America (in the areas of Patent Law and Intellectual Property Law) and Super Lawyers® Rising Stars.
