California Legal Update
This session will provide a legal update on new statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to California medical staffs and discuss the implications for medical staff operations. In addition, Erin Muellenberg and Rebecca Hoyes will discuss other complex and everyday issues they face in their practices, such as evolving legal issues involving overlapping peer review functions among medical staffs, medical groups, and foundations, scope of practice, and credentialing decisions. Finally, the presenters will address medical board enforcement trends and the risks associated with failure to report corrective action to state licensing agencies.
