Polsinelli PC announced Thursday it has expanded its presence in California by adding 21 lawyers from McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.
Polsinelli will double the size of its Los Angeles office by adding 18 lawyers. Three others will open a new office in San Francisco. The group includes a number of toxic and mass tort defense attorneys, including Farah Nicol.
"When we opened a Los Angeles office three years ago with a strategic growth plan, we were mindful of opportunities that would help propel Polsinelli's West Coast presence and add value for our clients," Polsinelli Chairman Russ Welsh said in a statement. "After meeting Farah Nicol and her group, we found them to be like-minded in our approach to client service and a focus on firm culture. The simultaneous opportunity to expand in Northern California aligned to the firm's growth plans for the region. It all came together well."
Polsinelli opened its Los Angeles location in July 2011 and, prior to today's announcement, had 18 lawyers.
"I have worked with and known of a number of the attorneys in this group, and not only are they excellent litigation and trial attorneys, but they are outstanding at advocating their clients' position in court," Dennis Dobbels, Polsinelli's toxic and mass tort practice group chair, said in a statement.
This year, Polsinelli cracked The American Lawyer's list of the country's 100 largest law firms. Last year it was ranked 113.
