Twenty-one McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP attorneys — including a number of veteran toxic and mass tort defense attorneys — are leaving the firm to boost Polsinelli PC’s financial services, real estate, health care and commercial litigation practices in Los Angeles and open a San Francisco branch, sources involved confirmed on Thursday.
Polsinelli says all 21 of the attorneys, including nine shareholders, represent clients in the construction and chemical industries, with an emphasis on asbestos litigation defense.
“I have worked with and known of a number of the attorneys in this group, and not only are they excellent litigation and trial attorneys, but they are outstanding at advocating their clients’ position in court.” Dennis J. Dobbels, chair of Polsinelli’s toxic and mass tort practice group, said in a statement on Thursday. “We are very excited about doubling the size of our practice and growing our litigation capabilities in California.”
Polsinelli announced on Thursday that 18 attorneys will join the firm’s Los Angeles office and three will come onboard to help launch a new office in San Francisco. The timing for the opening of Polsinelli’s new office in Northern California hasn’t yet been decided, according to a representative from the firm.
