Polsinelli PC has lured to its Kansas City office from Littler Mendelson PC a veteran employment and labor law attorney with a particular expertise in defending employers in trials that often include discrimination and harassment claims, the firm recently announced.

Denise K. Drake, who joins the firm as a shareholder, focuses her practice on a full spectrum of employment law matters, including workplace investigations, discrimination and harassment cases, whistleblower actions and wage and hour disputes, according to a Jan. 19 announcement.

Drake told Law360 Thursday that the move to Polsinelli offers her an opportunity to offer more than just legal advice to her clients, saying she enjoys "providing business advice to my clients and being a business partner with them."

"It seemed like a very good place to go," she said. "I can really work with clients from soup-to-nuts. Whatever my clients need, I can provide at Polsinelli."

Drake, who had joined Littler in 2010, has gained deep experience as trial lawyer, winning verdicts on behalf of employers in cases that involved all multiple forms of bias as well as retaliation and whistleblower claims, among other things.

Additionally, Drake also handles training for clients in areas such as compliance and ethics, and represents them in class actions, arbitrations and mediation, according to the firm.
