From the Phoenix Business Journal

Building profits from exports is what businesses can expect once getting past the fear of global trade. Making global business a hot topic was the session from the Global Chamber in a room at ASU's SkySong Wednesday morning filled with business leaders looking at opportunities and impacts from exporting.

A panel of export experts talked with the audience about how Arizona needs to seriously increase export activities to increase state revenues and business profits. "One aspect of global trade that businesses need to explore is the fact that margins are higher from exports than domestic sales," said Michael Patterson, Polsinelli Shareholder.

"American products are considered premium goods in other countries," Patterson said. "This means that margins on exports are higher than for similar domestic sales."
