When Colorado voters enacted the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights in 1992, they decided that the ability to raise taxes shall be left to a vote of the people.

Over the years, some proposed tax hikes have passed, while others have failed. However, we are just now learning of a remarkable election in which a proposed tax hike passed unanimously!

Did this vote occur in Crimea, you might ask? No, it occurred in Aurora.
