Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes attorney Craig M. Spierer as Shareholder in the firm’s New York office. Spierer joins the firm’s growing national Corporate and Transactional Practice.

Spierer represents a wide array of privately held startups, emerging high growth and established middle-market companies as well as entrepreneurs and investors in a wide array of nuanced and ever-changing industries including food, supplement, health and wellness; luxury and consumer goods; media, marketing, technology, as well as retail and service companies.

As a trusted advisor, Spierer regularly structures, negotiates and advises clients during the entire product or business lifecycle including corporate structuring; agreements with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, advisors, endorsers/influencers, customers and service providers; strategic partnerships, joint ventures and licensing agreements; internal guidelines and procedures; financing and exits and more.

He routinely partners with media, public relations, or other digital/media agencies in assisting companies in navigating the marketing and sale of their goods or services and licensing opportunities. He also devotes a significant amount of his practice in connection with product labeling, packaging and marketing campaigns and use of endorsers/influencers to ensure compliance with the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (FDCA), FDA, FTC and other applicable guidance as well as mitigating consumer/competitor complaints.

“Craig brings a unique perspective from his experience in the Food and Supplement industry to our growing practice,” said Polsinelli Corporate and Transactional Practice Chair Jonathan K. Henderson. “He brings added depth and a unique sub-specialty with his extensive knowledge on FDCA compliance, which contributes to our drive to be the nation’s premier corporate and transactional law firm.”

With nearly two decades of transactional experience, Spierer strategically grows and protects client’s intellectual property and brands on a worldwide basis. In the management of client’s global trademark portfolio, such strategies include advice on trademark clearance, protection, and licensing as well as assistance against copyright and trademark infringers including on the ever-changing e-commerce platforms and digital landscape.

“I look forward to further growing my practice at Polsinelli and working with an impressive group of lawyers who make-up the well-known Corporate and Transactional Practice,” said Spierer. “Polsinelli’s client-service focus, strategic approach to growth, entrepreneurial spirit and robust platform were desirable to me as I make the transition into this new chapter of my legal career.”

Spierer was selected as a Rising Star for Intellectual Property in New York Super Lawyers from 2013-2015 and was selected as a Super Lawyer for Business/Corporate Law, Food and Beverage, from 2018-2021.
