Erreka T. Campbell, a Dallas-based associate in Polsinelli’s Real Estate practice, has been appointed to the board of directors for The Real Estate Council (TREC) Community Fund and also serves as the Community Fund board secretary.
TREC Community Fund gives both nonprofit and for-profit organizations in Dallas and Collin counties access to capital for commercial real estate projects benefiting low-income families and their communities. By offering a wide range of financing products, the Fund offers the tools individuals and organizations need to build the community they envision. TREC Community Fund has raised $1.26 million in lending capital, operations and new initiatives, with $2.9 million in loans made. It originated in 2012 as a key community investment initiative and social venture of TREC.
As the largest and most influential organization of its kind in Texas, TREC represents more than 2,100 individual members and 650 companies, which make up over 95 percent of the commercial real estate businesses in North Texas. TREC’s mission is to cultivate relationships in the commercial real estate industry to catalyze community investment, influence policy, propel careers and develop the leaders of tomorrow.
“I’m honored to serve on TREC Community Fund board of directors and eager to apply my professional skills to the betterment of our community,” said Campbell. “Not only is TREC a reputable, influential organization in North Texas, it also presents unmatched opportunities to give back and get involved in addressing some of the area’s most critical needs on the ground level.”
Campbell will be able to draw upon her legal experience in the new role, having represented developers, investors and lenders with their acquisition, disposition, financing, development and leasing matters. She advises clients across various jurisdictions and property types, including data centers, offices, industrial, multifamily, multi-use and retail.
“Erreka’s appointment to the TREC Community Fund board is a testament to her enduring commitment to advocating for those in need, as well as her impressive legal knowledge and understanding,” said Jon Henderson, managing partner of Polsinelli’s Dallas office and chair of the firm’s national Corporate and Transactional Practice Group. “Her new role will serve as another strong avenue for Polsinelli to support important local charitable initiatives, especially as it relates to skills our attorneys are well-positioned to provide.”
Campbell is actively involved in the community by helping others to grow and succeed in their personal and professional lives. In addition to her TREC Community Fund board service, she serves on the board of directors for the Network of Empowered Women (NEW) Roundtable and the advisory board for The Aberg Literacy Center. She is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and the Junior League of Dallas, and mentors law students at Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas.
