Henry Talavera, shareholder in Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli's Dallas office and vice chair of the firm's Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice, has been named a Lifetime Achievement Award winner as part of Texas Lawyer's 2021 Texas Legal Excellence Awards.
The Lifetime Achievement honor recognizes lawyers who have left a lasting imprint on the Texas legal community. According to the publication, the selected honorees were chosen for being innovators, developing unique practice niches, amassing robust books of business, demonstrating strong leadership qualities, showing expertise in litigation, in-house or transactional work and committing themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work. The winners will be recognized in the January/February 2022 issue of Texas Lawyer.

Talavera has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and has prior experience as a federal government attorney. His extensive experience includes guidance relating to public, private and tax-exempt employers on the design, implementation and administration of all types of welfare plans and tax-qualified retirement plans, including defined benefit and plans intended to qualify under sections 401(k), 403(b) and 457(b) of the Internal Revenue Code. His practice involves all areas of employee benefits law related to benefit programs and arrangements for employees, directors and independent contractors.
