"From boutique to big firm, one year later," from the Los Angeles Daily Journal
by Ryne Hodkowski
As Lisa Greer Quateman receives a visitor in Polsinelli Shughart LLP's 18th floor office in Century City, she's replying to an email from someone in North Carolina while noticing her caller ID that someone from New York is calling. Such is the pace of a national law firm. Just 13 months ago, Quateman owned and operated Quateman LLP, a boutique firm with approximately a dozen attorneys focused on transactional and advisory work for finance, corporate and real estate. Now, she's the managing partner of the Los Angeles office of Polsinelli Shughart, a Kansas City-based national firm with more than 600 attorneys and 18 offices. Last July, Polsinelli Shughart and the boutique firm "joined forces" as Quateman described it.
"I decided to challenge myself to be successful in a large firm in today's environment,"said Quateman.
