Randa C. Barton also joins as associate in Real Estate Finance practice

Natalie A. Fortenberry has joined the Dallas office of Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli as a shareholder in its national Corporate and Transactional practice. Fortenberry brings extensive knowledge of complex transactional matters and has represented both public and private companies, as well as private equity firms.

“Natalie’s acute legal perspective, coupled with her valuable financial background, makes her uniquely well-positioned to counsel current and future clients on their most pressing needs,” said Jon Henderson, managing partner of Polsinelli’s Dallas office and chair of the firm’s national Corporate and Transactional practice. “She has a deep understanding of business issues from both sides of the table, and her demonstrated legal talent will continue to set her apart as a leader at the firm and in the community.”

With a decade of experience, Fortenberry has joined Polsinelli from a global law firm where she advised clients on a variety of deals, including acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs and investment transactions. Prior to her legal career, Fortenberry worked as a certified public accountant, serving as an independent auditor for a Big Four accounting firm and as an accountant for a private real estate investment company.

Fortenberry has been active in pro bono work, including serving as the 2014 Lend-A-Lawyer to the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and spending a year providing pro bono services to two international nonprofits. In recognition of her service, she was selected as a State Bar of Texas ATJ (Access to Justice) Pro Bono Champion in 2016, received the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Pro Bono Service Award in 2015 and was named Lawyer of the Year by the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program in 2015. Fortenberry has also been repeatedly named a Rising Star in Texas for Corporate M&A by Super Lawyers since 2016.

Fortenberry earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and previously completed her B.B.A., summa cum laude, at Harding University.

In addition to Fortenberry, Randa C. Barton has joined Polsinelli’s Dallas office as an associate in the highly regarded Real Estate Finance practice. Barton’s experience includes handling loan transactions from start to finish, including negotiating, structuring, documenting and closing all types of commercial loans. She works with lenders to service loans, including modifications, workouts, renewals, loan sales and foreclosure of security interests. Her real estate experience includes commercial leasing of a variety of income-producing properties, including subordination agreements and management agreements.

Barton earned her J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and previously completed her B.A. at Baylor University.
