One of the country's largest law firms has opened an office in downtown Nashville with plans to make a big splash in a short period of time.
To get things going, Polsinelli has recruited health care attorneys Bobby Guy and Robert Dempsey... But Polsinelli's leader, who oversees more than 740 attorneys at 21 offices — including a four-person outpost in Chattanooga — says the firm's ranks here will grow quickly and reach well beyond health care.
"Four years ago, we started a new Dallas office with three attorneys and now have three dozen," said Chairman Russ Welsh. "In July, we are relocating to new space in Dallas to accommodate growth. That's what we anticipate for Nashville, growth in a wide variety of legal services to assist our clients in multiple industries." Guy, who specializes in mergers and acquisitions has joined Polsinelli as a shareholder. Dempsey, who spent five years at Bass Berry & Sims, joined Frost in 2012 and now a counsel at Polsinelli. The duo has set up shop on the second floor of the Fifth Third Center.
Across its footprint, Polsinelli's health care team numbers 185 people. The firm's total number of partners ranks it 18th in the country, according to industry pub Law360.
