Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli announced today that Darren Donnelly has joined the firm’s Silicon Valley office as a principal in its Intellectual Property Department.

Donnelly brings with him more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property litigation and joins a string of high profile recent additions to Polsinelli’s Intellectual Property Department in Silicon Valley, most recently Franklin Kang, Angel Lezak and Shelton Austin.

Donnelly represents clients in patent and other technology and intellectual property disputes. He regularly leads teams in the U.S. District Courts, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and at the Federal Circuit representing innovation-focused companies, both large and small, across a range of computing, networking, and other technologies. He also advises clients on patent and litigation risk in connection with investments, acquisitions and IPOs, and on patent portfolio development, licensing and enforcement strategies.

Darren is well known as an experienced patent litigator, and we are thrilled to have him join our rapidly expanding IP Litigation Group in California,” said Fabio Marino, managing partner of Polsinelli’s Silicon Valley office and chair of the firm’s national Intellectual Property Litigation practice group. “His extensive experience and knowledge will be an invaluable benefit to our clients in California and beyond.”

Polsinelli has one of the largest IP practices in the nation, with a deep bench of cross-functional attorneys organized to service client’s intellectual property needs across a variety of industries. The firm’s attorneys handle the most complex issues facing technology and high tech companies, bioscience and life sciences companies, animal science, medical device, pharmaceutical, chemical, software and business methods, and any of a variety of other high tech industries.

“I look forward to joining this outstanding group of IP litigators in California, as well as working with the Polsinelli team on a national level,” Donnelly said. “The firm’s focus on strategic expansion in California, particularly with their Intellectual Property group, and their strong national presence were determining factors in my decision to move to Polsinelli.”

Donnelly joins Polsinelli from Fenwick & West. He received his J.D. from Santa Clara University, his master’s degree from Stanford University in Engineering-Economic Systems, as well as his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in Mathematical and Computational Science and Economics.

Polsinelli has more than 825 attorneys across 21 offices coast to coast, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and Seattle. The firm’s Silicon Valley attorneys focus in the areas of intellectual property and venture capital, with a cross-disciplined approach to client service that draws upon the talents of Polsinelli attorneys across the country.
