Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli
announced today Nathaniel “Tani” Weiner
joined its San Francisco office, adding his extensive experience handling behavioral health transactions to Polsinelli’s strong national merger and acquisition and health care capabilities.
This strategic addition extends Polsinelli’s lead as the ‘go to’ firm for mid-market health care M+A, and its capabilities in serving the needs of its private equity clients in the very active behavioral health sector.
Weiner focuses his practice on structuring, negotiating and completing M+A and other complex transactions, with a special focus in the behavioral health field. He has successfully closed more than 50 M+A transactions, including private equity and strategic acquisitions in the $5 to 75 million enterprise value range, corporate sale transactions in the $350 million to $1.2 billion range, and joint venture and affiliation agreements involving for-profit and non-profit health care providers. He also has 15 years of experience in-house representing leading behavioral health providers in all facets of their legal affairs.
“Bringing Tani onboard is a strategic move to further strengthen our national corporate and transactional, and health care capabilities,” said Jon Henderson, chair of Polsinelli’s national Corporate & Transactional practice. “He has a track record of leadership in significant transactions, and helping private equity firms and health care providers achieve their business objectives in the behavioral health space. We are delighted to add Tani’s extensive deal and industry experience to our nationally-recognized merger and acquisition and health care practices.”
“Tani is an incredibly experienced corporate attorney with unmatched experience in the behavioral health sector, and we are pleased to have him join our team in San Francisco,” added Matt Murer, chair of Polsinelli’s national Health Care department. “He is a key addition to our substantial and
growing presence in California, and we see great synergies from adding his corporate and behavioral health expertise to resources we can offer our clients that operate or are seeking to transact in the highly-regulated health care industry.”
Weiner joins Polsinelli from Shartsis Friese. He previously served as VP and deputy general counsel of Acadia Healthcare Company and CRC Health Group. He was also chief legal counsel of Aspen Education Group. He received his JD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 and his bachelor’s degree from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1994.
“I look forward to joining Polsinelli’s outstanding team of experienced corporate and transactional, and health care lawyers,” Weiner said. “The firm’s strong presence in California and nationwide and full-service capabilities, particularly in health care
transactions and regulatory matters, will enable me to serve clients at the highest level and were instrumental in my decision to move to Polsinelli.”
