Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes another corporate and transactional attorney to its Boston office in Shareholder James F. Coffey. Coffey, who is the firm’s fifth shareholder in Boston, will focus his practice on mergers and acquisitions and has significant experience in venture capital and corporate finance transactions.
As a new member of Polsinelli’s national Corporate & Transactional Practice Group
, Coffey brings experience having represented companies in a wide variety of industries, including life sciences, health care, banking and financial services, energy, digital media, IT, manufacturing, consumer products and more. He is the second corporate and transactional attorney to join Polsinelli’s Boston office within the last month, with Shareholder Dan Adams also adding to the firm’s growth in the New England region.

Previously, Coffey has advised public and private companies in tender and exchange offers, public and private offerings, the formation of partnerships and joint venture and strategic alliances, both domestically and overseas. He has also represented both borrowers and lenders in commercial loan transactions, as well as in distressed situations. He has served as lead counsel in corporate reorganizations, bankruptcies, workouts, receiverships, assignments for the benefits of creditors, distressed asset sales and complex corporate restructurings.

. He has been recognized as a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics

Coffey earned a J.D. from the New England School of Law and holds an LL.M. degree from the New York University School of Law. He completed his undergraduate coursework, cum laude
