Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is pleased to welcome new international corporate attorney Julia Isabel Rix as shareholder in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Rix joins the firm’s national Corporate and Transactional Practice, and brings additional experience to the firm’s International and Latin America practices, representing multinational clients.

Rix focuses her practice on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions in international and cross-cultural settings. She identifies international corporate development goals in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, cross-border restructuring, international joint ventures, foreign investment, corporate governance, compliance, licensing and commercial agreements.

“We are so pleased to have Julia join our national team of Corporate and Transactional attorneys as she brings so much value with her robust international experience, as well as with corporate transactions,” said Jonathan K. Henderson, Polsinelli’s Corporate and Transactional Practice Chair. “Julia’s practice is unique, and we look forward to tapping into her extensive experience and utilizing her wide range of skills to help our clients achieve their domestic and international goals.”

In addition to her corporate and transactional work, Rix has extensive experience serving as outside counsel to businesses on complex matters including cross-border and U.S. commercial transactions, compliance, corporate governance, and other daily operational issues.

Rix leverages her previous experience working in-house for the Latin America and Caribbean Law Department at a large security systems company to advise Polsinelli clients on international commercial and transactional legal issues in Latin America, Europe and the U.S. She has additional experience developing and implementing corporate governance and compliance programs for multinational companies. Rix has also led and contributed to global corporate reorganization projects, various spin-offs, mergers and acquisitions in the Latin America region and Europe, including coordinating legal aspects of financing transactions with treasury, tax and finance departments.

“Polsinelli’s client-service focus, strategic approach to growth and entrepreneurial spirit were desirable to me as I make the transition into this new chapter of my legal career,” said Rix. “I look forward to growing my practice with the firm, and the opportunity to drive business growth locally in D.C., as well as nationally and internationally. There’s a unique opportunity for me to help lead the firm with my multinational practice and I am ready for the challenge.”

Rix is the third female attorney to join Polsinelli’s growing Washington, D.C. office in the past month. Shareholders Holly Roth and Cynthia Weiss recently joined the D.C. office in the areas of Government Contracts and Capital Markets/Commercial Lending, respectively. For almost two decades, Polsinelli’s Washington, D.C. attorneys and policy advisors have worked with clients to address regulatory matters, policy advocacy, litigation, drafting and negotiating agreements, and a full range of legal services with an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.

“Julia is an incredible addition to our D.C. team and we are pleased to grow our office capabilities with such a unique skillset and robust international practice that she brings,” said Philip G. Feigen, Washington, D.C. Office Managing Partner. “Our D.C. office has great momentum having added three very strong new shareholders so far this year, and we look forward to collaborating with Julia and our other new attorneys.”

Rix first studied law at the University of Trier law school in Germany. She then received her undergraduate education at Florida Atlantic University before obtaining a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University - Shepard Broad Law Center. She also earned an LL.M. in International Business and Economics Law from Georgetown University Law Center.
