National Law firm Polsinelli congratulates shareholder Gregory M. Kratofil, Jr., for his selection as a member of the 2013 Class of 40 Under Forty by Ingram’s magazine. The 40 Under Forty program was established in 1998 to honor individuals who make significant contributions to their professions while demonstrating leadership and commitment toward the betterment of the community as a whole.

Kratofil practices in the firm’s Business Department as a technology attorney, providing legal counsel on a wide variety of matters for today’s technology companies. He also has assisted local tech clients in their efforts to raise capital, not just within the Kansas City market, but in major population centers with bigger investment opportunities.

“It is tremendous honor to be recognized by Ingram’s magazine for the work I have accomplished as an attorney, but I am equally humbled to be included among this incredible class of community-spirited professionals,” Kratofil said.

Drawing on his technology and business background, Kratofil often takes on a role of general counsel for a number of the Kansas City region’s new and developing technology businesses. His experience includes complex technology and commercial contraction transactions, technology and software-based mergers and acquisitions, as well as complaince with GLB, HIPAA, strate privacy breach notification laws and other privacy directives.

Kratofil has played an active role in the Kansas City area Google Fiber project, serving as lead counsel for the “Fiber for Communities” initiative while working with municipal leadership on each side of the state line. He also is co-founder of KC Next – the Technology Council of Greater Kansas City and serves on the board of directors of the Kansas City International Visitors Council.

Kratofil earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from St. Louis University in 1998 and his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Loyola University-New Orleans in 1995.
